Overweight and Pregnant
I know this has been asked before so I'm sorry. Few things, when will you start to show because right now I have the stomach that I have had and maybe if I was thinner I could tell. Also, with maternity clothes, do you buy any different? I just bought Gap and Old Navy things and I think I'm a bit too early.

Re: Overweight and Pregnant
I have been overweight for both of my pregnancies. With my DD6 I was in a size 3x and this pregnancy I am in a size XL/1x. So a lot smaller then last time around, but still...considered plus sized for sure.
With my DD I would say that somewhere around 20 weeks I started to look pregnancy, noticably so. I did get a belly and you could tell that I was pregnant and not just chubby in that area.
This time I was showing much earlier on. We took a family cruise together and at 8 weeks my sister told me that I looked 5 months pregnant. I popped very early, and have been wearing maternity clothes for a few weeks now. But I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I am smaller this pregnancy, or if it is because it is my 2nd pregnancy!

Re: Overweight and Pregnant
I was a bit overweight prepregnancy and I started to show about 15-16weeks, but this is my first pregnancy. As for maternity clothes, I just bought them in the size I was wearing before, so in other words, if you are currently wearing an XL in your prepregnancy clothes than you should buy XL in maternity clothes.

Re: Overweight and Pregnant
I am a size 16/18 XL-1x at 5' short with DD cup size- large all over and short so carrying it all round!
I was pretty uncomfortable in pants by 6 -8 weeks because of bloat and I bought maternity I believe around then. I bought my normal size XL-1x etc maternity and I was so much more comfortable - everything fit good- tummy area had room to grow. By 15-16 weeks I was looking pregnant IF I wore the maternity pants with a baby doll style shirt. Now I am 21 weeks and since week 18ish I'd say my double belly rolls are slowly turning into one belly. I really look pregnant now when wearing the maternity pants and tops- it rounds everything out. Oh and my cup size went to a DDD early in pregnancy and I just had to buy bra extenders in the craft department at walmart this week. I never used the bellyband I bought. I am up 18 lbs. Dr is not worried about my weight. I am trying to be careful though. I hope I don't gain too much more.
I luckily was able to borrow maternity clothes from a cousin my exact size!! Maybe try to buy used or post on parenting see if you can get handme downs- cloths are so expensive for something you will only wear a few months. I like DUO? Old NAvy and have Lane Bryant handme downs..not sure if LAne Bryant stills sells maternity. I do not like Target- runs too small for me.
In the beginning for tops I just went to Avenue and Got 1 size bigger baby doll type tops... some still fit okay others look weird now at 21 weeks.

Re: Overweight and Pregnant
