Ovarian sonogram results
Hi Ladies,
As some of you know, I recently discovered a 5 cm dermoid cyst on my ovary which needs to be removed. I received the written report in the mail today, and funny enough there were other things on there that my gyn. did not mention... i am assuming because the dermoid cyst is the main problem...
however, it also said i have small nabothian cysts within the cervix as well a follicle on my other ovary (not the one with the cyst).
Thoguhht some of you may have some knowledge about this stuff... What is a nabothian cyst and a follicle???? ( A follicle is the mature egg, I believe... but they worded it like it's something unusual. don't all ovaries have follicles?)
Seeing a gyn surgeon next month, but in the meantime, just curious....
TIA!

Re: Ovarian sonogram results
I read one of my sonogram reports also. There were a few things in it that my Dr. never mentioned like a complex lesion (cyst) on my ovary and multiple cervical nabothian cysts. When I discussed it with my Dr. she said she didn't mention these things because they are common, harmless, and will probably go away on their own. I had a follow-up sonogram a month later and the cysts weren't there anymore. Good Luck!

Thanks... i did some research and saw that the nabothian cysts are very common and harmless and often go away on their own. i'm just really worried about this one on the ovary... dont' want to lose it as i really want to TTC soon!
