Ovarian cyst removal during c-section?

Ovarian cyst removal during c-section?
I just received a bill from my doc for the c-sec. There's a charge on there for ovarian cyst removal.
Nothing was mentioned about a cyst throughout the entire pregnancy. I haven't had a cyst ever.
Is it possible that it was never noticed until the actual delivery?
Before I call my doc - is the cyst biopsied or anything? The reason I ask is because how do I know if this is bogus or not?

Call the office. It's probably an error. They can't remove something if it's not on the consent form.

I agree. I had a cyst during my pregnancy. I was told about it from my very first sono all the way until my scheduled c section. I think if they saw a cyst the dr would have mentioned it to you. I was also asked if i wanted it removed. Im thinking error.

same thing happened to me with my first daughter. They said that it was discovered during the operation and they send it out for testing.

Get your hospital records. Ask for the Op report and the pathology report. Docs don't necessarily need your permission to remove something if they think it might be potentially harmful.
