Outer wear...
What are you dressing the little ones in during this time of year?
I have been trying not to use her winter jacket too much because it's SO darn bulky and thick. My niece got it for her for her birthday and I wish that I had gotten to pick it out ------she looks like the kid in A Christmas Story --- "I can't put my arms down!"....
but it's now like 40 degrees so I can't get away with a sweatshirt and jean jacket anymore I'm thinking....
What are you all dressing the little ones in now?

Re: Outer wear...
My mother bought this lighweight Fleece Elmo one piece . It looks like a snowsuit. But its lightweight flleece. I am going to try it today cause its cold.
His jackets are too bulky for the carseat, so I have been using a heavy blanket or JJ Cole bundle me.

Re: Outer wear...
Last year was so much easier since I just used the bundle me --- so I just would put on a warm hat that covered her ears and a fleece or sweater .....

Re: Outer wear...
Do you guys think it is still OK to use a sweatshirt with her jean jacket ontop of it?

Re: Outer wear...
I got a wool coat from the Gap. I use that because it's warm but not thick.

I think its pretty cold out. 40 degrees...it felt very cold to me when I took my son to school earlier. I think its too cold for a sweatshirt/jeans jacket.
Is it an option to have your cousin return the coat she bought so you can buy something warm but thinner? There are many down coats or even very warm non-down coats that dont have to be so encumbering to her. Plus, as has been mentioned, a too puffy coat is not good with the carseat straps.

Well, my niece works at Carter's so it was a coat from last year that she got on clearance plus her discount ----- so returning it would probably not get us much.
I'm not happy with the pants either --- the snow pants --- they are just pull on pants, no overalls, nothing to attach the pants to the jacket, and no elastic at the ankles.
I should probably just donate the set. Emily has only worn the jacket once. And then pick up a nice set that I saw at Target or Sear's.
I did end up taking her out in a fleece and jean jacket today -- and I think she was warm....but I know it is inevitable that she'll need a good winter jacket.
