Outer Banks

We are planning a big extended family trip to the Outer Banks in August. Somehow I got put in charge of organizing it Chat Icon Anyway, I have never been and neither has pretty much anyone else going on this trip. Well my uncle and aunt went on their honeymoon but that was 30 years ago.
Anyway, can anyone point me in the right direction to get started? We will be about 30 people so I guess we would need about 3 houses? We want to be nearby each house and close to the beach. It is all adults except for 2 babies. Any suggestions on best areas to stay? recommendations for rental companies? I'm going to do a search on here too but thought I might get some fresh ideas if I posted too. Thanks so much!!!

Re: Outer Banks

I was there about 10 times and we always got 2 houses for about 20-25 people. I recommend staying in the Salvo/ST. Waves area.

Re: Outer Banks

I really liked Duck, NC. They have some nice rental homes there.

Re: Outer Banks

Hi!
My parents have a vacation house down there on Cape Hatteras... its a GREAT area!! Cape Hatteras is a national seashore, so a lot of it is preserved and not built up. but theres still plenty to do- mini golf, movie theater, wave runner rentals, kayak rentals, you can walk up to the top of the lighthouse, take the ferry over to ocracok island....
if you want more "stuff" around ( shopping etc) i would look in the areas of Duck, Nags Head, Kitty Hawk. They are really pretty too and just have more "stuff" around. Good luck!!
