Our Turn: Elizabeth Was Bit at Daycare
I had my fingers crossed that this wouldn't happen, but it did. Boo....
I know these things happen and I hope that Elizabeth doesn't become a biter in the future. I was upset, but I am over it now.
The thing that does annoys me is that daycare did not call me  There was a letter in her cubbie explaining the incident. So needless to say I was pretty surprised.
Am I over-reacting, or do you think they should have called me?

My daycare does an incident report and leaves it in the cubby uness it is a MAJOR injury.

Yeah, when Christopher was in daycare it was the same thing. I don't think we were ever called and we had a few incident reports in the cubbie.

I know when it's your kid you don't want to hear this but honestly I would not want to know this at work b/c it would make the rest of the day really difficult for me to get through. Unless of course, my child was really hurt and I needed to leave work right away.

When I worked at a daycare, we always had to call the parents right away and let them know there child was bit.

Same with me - Poor Elizabeth

Thanks! She's fine. Just has a red bite mark on her arm. Apparently she tried to hug someone that didn't want to be hugged 
They call me for other little things, I was just surprised they didn't call about this.

I own 2 daycare centers. It is the centers job to take care of the injury and then write up an incident report. You should have been called if it were major. Since the skin wasn't broken they did follow correct protocal. I am quite shocked of the mothers on here stating that they found reports in the cubby. My mouth dropped. A teacher or director should hand that to you directly. In my schools we actually have the parent sign the report and then we keep a copy and they are given one also.

To calrify, it is in the cubby but the teacher in the room always explained it and we were asked to sign a copy.

I would talk to them about their policy and then request that they call you with incidents like this, in addition to the incident report. I'm sure they will respect your wishes.
