Our kitchen, before & after!!!
K, so we moved into our house over 2 years ago, and w/ the planning of the wedding last year, it took us forever to do our kitchen!! we totally gutted all the plaster, and DH reframed and sheetrocked everything. all of this work was done by him & his dad (although I did all of the painting). we had the floor, cabinets & paint done last year, but finally had our backsplash & crown molding done 2 weeks ago!!
let me know what you think, DH was not really crazy about my backsplash pick, but hey now its on the wall and we're not changing it lol....I like it anyway!
here's a before (now sing, "I love the 70's!!" lol)
AFTER:
We cut a hole into the wall shared between the kitchen & LR, so we can eat at the extended counter top while watching TV (DH didn't like it at first, but come football season, he LOVED it!!)

How can you possibly get rid of your original kitchen....
Great new kitchen you guys have now....Absolutely loved the work you guys did. And I think the backdrop you chose looks great as well.
Kudos to your husband and dad....

OMG it was too funny when DH took out the microwave & stove- b/c it was all attached and one big piece, it was so awkward to take it out!! my MIL told me that was the NEW thing to have when she first got married in 1967!! yikes!!
the fridge was the first thing we threw out when we moved in, the previous owner moved to Virginia, the house was empty for 6 mths, and she LEFT SOME FOOD IN THE FRIDGE  talk about nasty!!!

thanks!!! yea he was trying to push a darker tile, it would've blended or matched the granite more. I wanted something a little more similar in look/texture to the floor tile (it has that uneven edges along each tile)
thank you so much ladies!!! after our kitchen taking so long to get done, I'm happy its finally where we want it to be!

the before, it was definitely a galley kitchen b/c they weren't using the whole space.....when we re-did it, we made it more of an L kitchen. and the wall in the before (across from the fridge) we broke that open to expose the staircase (sorry didn't upload an after pic!)

 sounds like a game show.......drum roll please............door #1: stairs to basement........door #2- pantry closet! we have like 5 shelves in there for cereal, paper towels, canned goods etc. the more space the better!! I could have a whole other closet like that and fill it up! what can I say I buy in bulk lol before we renovated, the doors were actually 2 sliding doors, we took them out and put regular doors there instead. I'll have to stain them one of these days

That looks beautiful! I also love the backsplash and really love the breakfast "nook" area! I love that it is open to the LR so that you can see what's going on if you have guests over while you're getting things ready in the kitchen!
