Our hell - buying a FSBO and estate

Well I am writing this as sorta a blog/warning/education. We put a offer on a house over a month and half ago, next day signed the binder and gave a check for escro. Seller's went on vacation, then came back had lawyer issues.

They got another lawyer a few weeks ago, after a week the lawyer had the contract sent to our lawyer and we signed the next day. Two weeks later after calling the owners, calling our lawyer (back and forth excuses) we find out today the seller went in to sign the contract finally.

She didn't realize her sisters and brothers had to sign! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

This is a estate sale, she never went into her lawyer to go over details of a estate sale. Luckily the other sisters signed yesterday (local) but now she is shipping it off to Florida for the two brothers to sign. She now doesn't know what do for closing, she is asking me what to do! (isn't that your lawyers job?)

This has been headache after headache. We are so ready to walk away from this whole thing so we are giving it until next week for the contract to be back in the lawyers hands otherwise we are going to walk. So the lesson is if you are buying via owner make sure if it is an estate sale that they have seen their lawyer, discussed how it will be handled and that the seller has their **** together otherwise RUN!

yikes!

it seems like you and me never catch a break - it's always something!

i would try riding it out and see what happens - maybe you can ask your lawyer to put pressure on them to get things rolling.....
