Other than CIO any other methods?

Hi,

For anyone who didnt do CIO how did you get your DC to sleep in their own crib?

We started DD in her crib this past monday and she fusses so much during the night I take her into bed with us - I know...wrong, wrong ...wrong...but I am so tired that I dont have the stamina to be trying to get her back to sleep in the middle of the night.

Do I have to go through a few weeks of walking her back to sleep and then putting her back in her crib before she will sleep through the night?

TIA.

If she's just fussing & not waking up, you could try patting her back to sleep in her crib.

My son used to get so upset, he would throw up so we gave up. I couldn't stand to see him with tears streaming down his face and I needed sleep. It got worse when he could talk. He would cry "Mommy, I crying. Hear me? I crying..." or scream "I need ladder!" (to get out of his crib). If you can get her in her crib before she's really talking, you're better off.

He would fall asleep with us. I'd put him in his bed if I was still awake when he conked out. Because I thought the cool sheet would wake him, I used to put a waterbottle to warm the spot.

Thanks...she actually wakes up..I have tried rubbing her on the back or tummy and she just gets really irritated...I think she just wants me and my boobs and anything less is not going to cut it....

Maybe I should put her back in the crib after I have settled her in our bed...I might try that tonight - If I dont fall asleep with her that is!!

BTW.I love your stories about your kids...I really think they say they funniest things....I am cracking up at your son looking for the ladderChat Icon what a smart kid.

I'm in the same boat as you... We do not believe in CIO. DD has slept with us since we brought her home... I nurse and it is easier to have her with me but I get no sleep Chat Icon She will only stay in her crib for a short while...
