Asking for a friend. She wants to take a family trip to Orlando (Disney (2 theme parks, 1 water park), Universal, Seaworld) for about 10 days. She is driving down with her family. Which inexpensive hotel do you recommend. Why? Which websites sell the most inexpensive tickets? I did my undergrad at UCF in Orlando, so I'm familiar with the area but it's been a few years. Thanks!

Can't help you with Seaworld (wouldn't give them a dime of my money), but for Universal, USSSA sells discounted tickets. They also sell Wet N Wild tickets (I have never been there).

I would hop on Groupon and see if there are any deals for hotels. There usually is. The Coco Key hotel there used to be on Groupon all the time, and has a Waterpark on property. We have always stayed at Disney, or off site with points, so I can't really can't comment on pricing. The hotel we stayed at near Universal was the Fairfield Inn Convention Center hotel. Clean, modern rooms, free breakfast, right on I Drive, close to Universal. Not sure of the price though.

Re: Orlando

My rec is to go with a hotel with a name you recognize.

We're going to Disney at end of August and initially were sucked into the $40 night cheap hotels.

Ended up getting caught up with a place that ended up being a timeshare.

The whole experience turned me off so much I decided to book a moderate resort AT Disney.

My gf lives in FL and just did Disney two weeks ago. I think she mentioned she stayed at the Days Inn near Disney and it was around $52 a night.

I believe they all have pools and basic amenities.

P.S. I can't believe people are still wanting to go to Seaworld either.
