We are about to start my DD on whole milk and think we are going to go with organic. What brand does everyone use?

I'm also about to start my DS on whole milk. I go to Costco so I will probably use theirs.

Are most of you girls doing Organic b/c of hormones etc? I know it can cost more but I figure if it can help in some way then why not go that route.

Re: Organic Milk

We only do organic milk. For a while we would only do pasteurized (not ultra) because you get most nutrients that way. Trader joes milk is pasteurized. However it expires so quick. Now I buy ultra pasteurized because we don't drink a ton and I was wasting so much. Still is organic though!

I'm not picky with the brand, but we only do organic-we've used Costco, trader joes, target, horizon, and stony field farms. Cheapest is usually target or trader joes.

Eta: once dd started eating it was like a light bulb went off with food quality, and I've almost finished switching over all of our food at home to organic. Next is working on when we're not at home.

we usually do trader joe's, whole foods brand or horizon. brand doesn't matter as much to me as long as it's organic and hormone free.

Usually BJs brand you get 2 for $6 and change. If not than Natures Promise or Organic Valley. I read something negative about Horizon so I avoid that brand. That was a few years ago though so the issue may be resolved.

It's hard to find just pasteurized. Most are ultra pasteurized. Ultra kills the good beneficial stuff in milk. Stop and shop now has one that's pastrurized as well as trader joes and whole foods. That's what we use. In a pinch I'll get non organic. We don't drink a ton of milk and stop and shop only has gallons by me

Re: Organic Milk

We use Shop Rite brand. It is the cheapest I have found by the gallon and is NOT ultra pasteurized.

no brand loyalty here...I'll use stop and shop brand, tj's brand, bj's brand, horizon, stoneyfield, shoprite brand...depends on where I am shopping when I need milk.
