Oreo Cakesters - HELP!

I started making this Oreo pie years ago. Everyone loves it and asks tha I make it for major holidays.
Since we will be at other's houses for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it was going to be the dessert i was going to bring.

You need the Oreo Cakesters to make this dessert.

I have been looking for these stupid cookies for more than a week now and I can not find them anywhere!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I have never had any problem finding them Chat Icon

I even did a google search to see if something happened to them - but nothing came up. Has anyone else seen them anywhere? Or not seen them either? Chat Icon

I considered having them shipped, but its too late for that now and I'm not paying expedited shipping for cookies Chat Icon

Oreo Cakesters - HELP!

I don't live in LI so I can't help with finding them, but what if you used regular oreos and blended them with chocolate cake?

its a no bake cake. its like all mouse filling on the inside and its supposed to be smooth and soft when you bite into it.
the cakesters are like smooshy pieces of oreo cakes - which works perfectly with the cake and is what the receipe calls for.

i tried using regular oreos one time, but since they are heavy and hard, the mouse filling didn't settle properly and didn't come out good Chat Icon

I don't live in LI either, I'm in Brooklyn, but i haven't heard of anyone else telling me that they weren't able to find these either..so just curious if anyone else who may have bought them in the past may have had trouble recently locating them.

Oreo Cakesters - HELP!

I looked at Shoprite at Home in West Babylon and Commack and they both have them listed. I don't know how accurate it is with their stock but maybe give them a call?

ETA: Just saw that you live in Brooklyn. Shoprite doesn't do Shop at Home in Brooklyn but they do have a store. Maybe try there?

I use it to check prices before I go. It's pretty accurate with that but sometimes they list an item that the store physically does not have or has run out of. I'd call your local one or run over there if it's close by to see.

Good luck!

Oreo Cakesters - HELP!

It looks like the Food Dynasty on 86th and 15th has them: http://shop.mywebgrocer.com/shop.aspx?strid=89D63762

ETA: for some reason the link doesn't bring you to the page with them on it, but search "oreo" and it's on the second page.

Re: Oreo Cakesters - HELP!

If you really can't find them anywhere near you, try buying boxes of whoopie pies - they are pretty much almost the same as the cakesters.

If it's something you really want to make, it's worth a trip to Queens. The Stop n Shops by me (there's 3 of them reasonably close) always seem to have them. Good luck! Chat Icon

sure!

it can actually be found on the inside os any Nabisco chocolate oreo ready made crust Chat Icon
i don't remember the exact measurements, but you need like 7 oreo cakesters - cut up into tiny pieces.
one ready made oreo crust.
2 boxes of oreo instant filling (near the jello aisle) 2½ cups of milk and at least 8oz of cool whip.

you mix the milk and pie filling and some cool whip all together. its gets thick, scoop into the pie and refridgerate for like 4 hours. then take the chopped up oreo cakesters and sprinkle all over the top of the filling and then cover with the rest (or however much you want) of cool whip. refridgerate again. then enjoy the deliciousness!
