Oprah's "ho me down" controversy
Personally, I think she has a point. A lot of music is degrading and nasty to women, and if she doesn't want to promote that kind of music, she doesn't have to. I saw the show when she had Ludiacris on and she rightfully told him that he may be intelligent and view it as entertainment but not all of his fans are smart enough to realize that his degrarding talk about women is not serious.

I agree with her. Those lyrics are disgusting, and if she doesn't want a person who represents degrading women on her show, then she has a right to do that just as these rappers have the right to call women every name they can think of.

I agree with her completely, and I commend her for not being bullied into promoting something that she doesn't stand behind.

I agree with Oprah. I am not trying to offend anyone but I think a lot of rap music promotes violence and degrades women.

I agree with her 100% and I"m glad she's taken a stand on this. We're living in a society that seems to find degrading comments, words and violence against women is a source of entertainment. The thing that really gets me is not only the men that do this, but the woman that also participate. I called a radio station one morning because the things I heard the female dj saying about other women just turned my stomach...good role model for the young girls that were listening to her, huh?
