OPKs During IUI Cycle?
Do you girls use OPKs in addition to the monitoring during an IUI cycle?

Re: OPKs During IUI Cycle?
Im not doing IUI....but this was my 1st medicated cycle and didnt use OPKs.... just went to monitoring. I had one OPK left and used it a day after I triggered bc I was curious to see if it would be positive lol!!!
If you are being monitored by a doctor, I dont think you need to bother with the OPKs. Good luck!!!

i agree. as long as you are being closely monitored dont waste the money on OPKs.

Re: OPKs During IUI Cycle?
no, i stopped temping, using OPKs, everything. i am leaving it completely in their hands to monitor. it's kind of freeing actually.

Re: OPKs During IUI Cycle?
I still use OPKs only because I stress out that I will get a surge before my appointment with Dr B. And it turns out that thank God I checked on Sunday night because I detected a surge on CD11 (which is my usual surge day). I was scheduled for monitoring on Monday aftrenoon and was panicking because I thought that maybe this will mess up Dr B'S IUI planning for this cycle. He asked me to come in on Monday morning and he saw that the egg still hadn't shed it's shell (I thought that sounded really cute). I'm scheduled for an IUI at 11:30 this morning. Hopefully my egg is still waiting around and I didn't miss my opportunity this cycle

Re: OPKs During IUI Cycle?
I have, because my RE has suggested I do it at certain times. They ask me to test with opks and if I don't get by the time my eggs are mature, then they'll trigger me. They always verify with a blood test also Some months I've O'd on my own at the right time, other months my eggs are ready before that happens and they trigger me
If you're concerned, you should ask your dr what they recommend you do

The egg can last up to 24 hours after it's released so don't stress too much. Good luck!!!!!

Re: OPKs During IUI Cycle?
Thanks everyone! I have my follicle check on Friday (CD11) and they expect to have me trigger Sunday. Last month I was checked on CD11 and the doc estimated I'd O a day or two after that, but I either didn't O or released an immature egg late in my cycle. He bumped up my Clomid to 150mg so I'm just nervous that I could O before I trigger. I guess it doesn't hurt to use the OPKs, even if it isn't really necessary.
