Opk and gender
How many of you have heard that if u conceive on your ovulation date ( or dtd day before or day after) u will have a boy? I was just wondering how true this is for the ladies on this board? How many of you used opks and bd exactly when u were ovulating and are having boys? How many are having girls?

Re: Opk and gender
I know 3 women who did and they all had girls. DH and I did it too, I had a mc , but it was a girl. My regular OB told me it hasn't worked with most of her patients . I also know few people who believe it worked for them so who knows...

Re: Opk and gender
I used OPKs the first time and we had a girl We used OPKs the second time and I will let you know
The first time we were trying to tip the scales in favor of a girl - so we would BD until the OPK stopped saying positive because I knew it meant you would O in the next 24-48 hours and supposedly if you want a girl you need to BD prior to O. I have no clue if this helped us conceive a girl the first time but we did the same thing this time around so 3 more months to find out if it worked a second time.

Re: Opk and gender
Worked for both pregnancies even though I wasn't trying for specific sex.
With DS I bd'd before, during, and after ovulation.
With this baby we only BD'd two days before ovulation.
But two friends of mine said they bd'd on ovulation day and they both had girls.

Re: Opk and gender
Pretty sure DS was concieved on ovulation day, but I wasn't using and OPK that time. Wasn't officially trying for a baby yet.
With this pregnancy, I have to admit I tried to have a girl. I BD two days before OV and used OPK. I also did a few other things I read in a book about choosing gender. Well didn't work, we are having a boy. I really thing this doesn't work.

Re: Opk and gender
i dont think it matters how close to ovulation with gender, i know someone who with an IUI, had a girl, and IUI's are usually scheduled to coincide close to or as near to ovulation as possible.
