Opinions on what to do next?

So i went in today to get my results for my bloodwork.
The measured my progesterone levels (i was taking endometrin 2x a day but started having side effects) and was taken off of it.

My Progesterone today was 14.7. On Monday, with the Progesterone, it was staying at an even 20 over the past few weeks.

My RE told me i don't have to take it because if I was seeing a regular OBGYN, if they had done this test, they wouldn't have put me on anything at all, ever. But, she told me if I was nervous about it, I could reduce it to once a day, at night, so i won't feel the side effects so much.

What would you ladies do? take the one dose to stay on the safe side? I'm leaning towards this myself.

Also, they ran another HcG test and they are up to 8,159, up from 2,591 on Monday. Does this seem a little low for anyone? Its still more than a 60% rise Chat Icon

I would personally stay on the progesterone 1x a day but that's bc I am overly paranoid. My progesterone never went passed 10 and I was on it 2x a day so your number is awesome in MY book!

I think your HCG increase is good... they say it shoud "double", but techinically anything over 60% is considered on target!

I would also just stay on the progesterone 1x a day as well. Better to be safe than sorry IMO.

And I think your #s are fabulous!! Did your RE seemed concerned about it? I'm so incredibly happy that this is happening for you Antonella!

I personally would err on the side of caution and keep taking the progesterone.

Your beta is increasing perfectly! The higher it gets, the longer it takes to double.

no, the RE didn't seem worried, he just said that at this tage in the game they go more by what an ultrasound can tell you as opposed to the bloodwork. so i guess i will be a nervoud nellie until next Thursday. I read somewhere that you won't hear a heartbeat or see one until your levels are over 50K. i don't know how true that is, but if its true, then i'll be 9 months pregnant waiting to hear a heartbeat! Opinions on what to do next?

I got this info. from baby med, showing how doubling time slows the higher the HCG number ..I think you are doing great, but I would prob. keep up with the progesterone if you can bear the side effects just to be extra cautious and give baby the best shot!!

NORMAL HCG DOUBLING TIMES

HCG Level DOUBLING TIME EXPECTED
Under 1,200 mIU/ml Between 30 and 72 Hours
1200-6000 mIU/ml Between 72 and 96 Hours
Over 6,000 mIU/ml Over 96 Hours

theres no reason to come off progesterone until 10w or so. at that point its safe to come off because the placenta will produce the progesterone for the baby, not your corpus luteum. if your number was wayyy higher id say go for it, but since its not super high there is no reason to stress over it. it cant hurt to stay on it. and im not an overly cautious person. good luck!

I agree.. Also, your beta seems fine. It as it gets as high as yours, it rises more slowly.

When my RE put me on progesterone she said this:

If you weren't having unexplained infertility and at your OB/GYNs office, a "normal" progesterone level would be 7. Since you're here we want it to be at least 10. (My base level for my failed IUI was 9.4)

Try taking them once a day at night before going to sleep, that's what I do. My level now is 19 as of 7DPIUI. I'm currently 12 days post. I get side effects, but not the really bad ones.
