Opinions on necessities for a baby registry...
I don't plan on registering until about 22 weeks so I still have a few weeks until then but I decided to take a walk into Babies R Us to check it out and well...everything might as well have been in Chinese because I walked out as fast as I walked in lol. Bridal Registry was hard but this is a totally different ball game, at least I knew what the difference between steak knives and butter knives was! So I'm looking for opinions please on what you think is a definite necessity for a baby registry! Thanks a bunch!

I just registered a few days ago and I am no where near done. It is VERY overwhelming. I am still having a hard time with it.

Thank you for your list, I had no idea they even sold extra bases for car seats.

Re: Opinions on necessities for a baby registry...
I would add to the above list Burpee cloths (had no idea how fast I would go through these) Swaddle blankets Plain white Onesies in every size up to 24months (It was such a lifesaver to just go in the closet and take out the next size - babies grow out of sizes very quickly in the beginning, it'll be one less thing you have to go and pick up at the store).
The store(s) you end up registering at usually give you a checklist on what to get. Granted you don't need every single thing but it gives you a general idea. Target just sent me a registry book in the mail that was VERY informative, told you what you need for every age range. I would ask for it if you ever stop by the store hths

All of the above as well as:
monitor exersaucer high chair and/or booster seat infant tub thermometer shopping cart cover boppy pillow hangers nursing pads (even if you don't BF you will want these to help with leakage after delivery) convertible carseat pack n play

Good point, they're going to need other sizes eventually not just what they'll need as a newborn, so why not register for it.

I went off all my mommy friends and that couldn't have worked out any better. Take your time registering. It can defiantly be overwhelming. But make it fun!

Re: Opinions on necessities for a baby registry...
Coming from a new mommy of a 4 month old, these are my must haves:
Bouncer ( my ds sits in it while I'm showering or cleaning and is perfectly content. It's been a BIG help) Bumbo (this infant seat is wonderful. It helps them sit up by themselves without your constant support. Gives them a little independence. Ds loves it.)
Playtex drop ins ( very easy to clean and easy to use. Ds is rarely ever gassy which is VERY good. Babies are very unhappy when gassy)
Dr. Browns ( I've heard are very good bottles. I would register for two types of bottles because all babies are different and you really have no idea what they will prefer.)
Diapers ( ds is 4 months and we haven't had to buy ANY diapers yet. In fact we won't need to for about three more. Months. Which is fantastic!)
Wipes ( you can never have enough. You wouldn't even believe how many I've used in 4 months lol )
Jumperoo ( my ds isn't using one yet however my friend has a 7 month old and she loves it. It let's them stretch their legs and get a little excerise. It also tires them out a little and you wouldn't believe how much energy that 7 month old has.)
Teethers (ds already chews on everything. Teething can start early and last awhile.)
Crib rail covers (see teethers lol)
Bundle me (hooks right up to the carseat and avoids the need to carry a million blankets around with you.)
Binkies (if your using them register for some. I can't tell you how many we've lost or misplaced.) Carseat (obvious) Stroller or snap and go (obvious)

Re: Opinions on necessities for a baby registry...
I found the store's checklist to be helpful with the suggestions from the Baby Bargains book as well as friends/family. Good luck! I'm on bed rest so I did it from home with a lot of comparing and contrasting between BBB and BRU.
