Only issue with engineer inspection

The only issue was that the electric which is currently at 150 amps he says is not enough and should really be 200 amps, it would cost about $1500-2000.
Do you think we should try to get the seller to pay?? Thoughts?

2K to upgrade (give or take) we have to upgrade our panel that we are getting from 100 amp (if that) to 200, i may go more depending on the extra cost if he recommends it since now i am thinking in five years we might do a central ac.

It never hurts to ask, but my guess is they will say no. But you never know!

Re: Only issue with engineer inspection

It wont hurt to ask but probably wont get anything because and electrical system can work fine as 150....Just with the amount of electronics people have today it is better to have 200amp service

see if they will split the cost in the final contract price--if they have an issue is it the end of the world? Nah...but they're going to run into the same thing with whomever does an inspection there!

I wouldn't even bother. I looked at 50+ homes. i can count on one hand the homes that HAD updated electrical. if the house is operating ok with it that way why should they update it? for you? I don't get thisChat Icon I wouldn't even ask. I think its something you should do when you move in if you want it.
Unless the home is having issues with the box they should not have to chip in a penny towards that. thats simply an upgrade.

Sounds like your engineer inspection went well! Congrats.

I agree, I would probably not ask for them to do anything. It's an upgrade and it's something you can do later on down the road.

Many homes still run on 100A. I highly doubt the seller is going to pay for this upgrade.

Re: Only issue with engineer inspection

Just wanted to update, I spoke to my uncle who is an electrician and he said it really isn't necessary so we aren't even going to bother asking for anything.
