only congested at night
DD always seems to get so congested at night. This week it got so bad that she's been waking up once or twice a night yelling " I can't breathe" She is a bit dramatic so I don't think it's that bad but she is definitely all congested. She's fine as the day goes on so it makes me think it's something in her room. I vacuumed, changed all the crib bedding & washed her million stuffed animals she sleeps with but it didn't seem to help. We have steam heat so it gets pretty dry in there, I have the humidifier on but doesn't make a difference. Any suggestions? I'm hoping she's not allergic to the cat but I would think she would show some signs of it during the day if she was.

Re: only congested at night
My DS went through the same thing. The doctor said since he was laying down, the mucus would accumulate making it harder to breathe. We also had the humidifier, but Vicks vaporub worked wonders. I also propped him with a few pillows. She may need nasonex. That helped also.

My older DD who is 4.5 years old is also congested and coughing at night. I gave her another pillow, put Vicks on chest and soles of feet. I also rub some on top of nose and entrance to nostrils. Saline spray and also humidifier.
