Online Chat Boards
Does it bother you when you open up on chat boards, as in offer up informationb about yourself or offer advice based upon your real life experiences and there are others who post often that don't even offer a first name? KWIM Alex?

No, though maybe it should? A lot of people do really open up, but that is their choice to do so. I can understand that some people would want to remain anon for many valid reasons.
Plus, a person can give a first name, but who knows if it is their real one?

I hear ya...I guess it would make me feel better even having a fake name...LOL! I get that there are lurkers, and its not about me sharing really, I dont mind sharing. I just got wierded out by people who have hundreds of posts about nothing.

It doesn't bother me...But i think it is a little weird. ESPECIALLY here when some of us know our DH's first names much less ours

not really....it seems there are people who only want to hear about your life and will never tell a soul anything about theirselves. but then there are those that post away about all kinds of personal business and get offended when it is used against them. i try not to post too much about myself, but not b/c i'm hiding something, just that i believe there is such a thing as too much information and you never know who's reading this...

The never know whos reading this freaks me out. I didnt use my name for a while because of this and my name is very original, so if you saw it you pretty much knew it was me. But I did feel I was kind of betraying those of you who answered me and gave so much personal info. So I gave in.
