I would leave it alone. It will come off by itself. If you pull it off you could make her lip bleed.

I would probably leave it in fear of ripping off good skin. If she is sleeping maybe use nail clippers to cut it (probably something I would do if it was driving me nuts) also, I would put aquafor or a&d or something on them when she is sleeping to soften them up.

I would ask your ped about the aquaphor just to be sure but I'm neurotic about that kind of stuff.

I would use vaseline before aquaphor since she is 'eating it". DD always had chapped lips, even as a NB.

I would try a little linsinoh (or another brand of pure lanolin). It's considered safe and not harmful to the baby. It specifically says that you do not have to wash it off before BFing. It's great for all kinds of dry skin. I've used it on my own lips when they're chapped.

leave it or put breastmilk on it. i can pretty much guarantee that if she eats her own lip skin it will not harm her in any way Chat Icon

My pedi recommended aquaphor for DS dry hands when he was born. She said use aquaphor because its safe incase he put his hands in his mouth.
