once in contract
how often did you hear from your lawyer?
what about your bank?
i know my bf is crazy organized with finances, so he submitted no joke like a 2 inch thick manilla folder with documents when he put in the paper work for the mortgage
i feel like we should be getting daily updates or something though lol
our on or about date is feb 1, which is in 2 weeks, but we haven't gotten our actual date
how long before does this come?
i just want my house!!

Re: once in contract
We only heard from our atty if there was an issue. From the bank when they needed some piece of paper (which was a lot since they lost everything at least once). We did not get our closing date until 2 days before. The bank sets that date so I would call and check in with them to make sure they have everything they need.

Re: once in contract
We only heard when he needed something. You are really waiting on the bank for the clear to close. You will need to get your homeowners ins before that can happen so I would get that done asap.
The waiting stinks! It will be here before you know it!!!

You set up the ins. It needs to be paid in full.

Re: once in contract
We had to set up insurance before closing or the bank wouldn't release the mortgage. Usually you can set it up now, then call them to change the active date once you close.
We only heard from our lawyer when they needed something, which was often, since we were closing on another property as well.
It should go quickly as long as the sellers have all ducks in a row and aren't waiting to close elsewhere first.
