Once again, creations by Ed-lie's crafty aunt:
She made the valences for Ed-lie's room! The lighting is poor, but you get the idea!:
Again, I will suggest to order extra fabric (or even sheets) to make accessories. If you have a person in your family who knows how to use a sewing machine, it is a helll of a lot cheaper than buying the stuff already made!

Re: Once again, creations by Ed-lie's crafty aunt:
I am very lucky. My hope is to learn how to use the sewing machine that I am inheriting from Mom's house. I am pretty creative, but my execution isn't as good as my sisters' seem to be. This sister knits and needlepoints. The other sister needlepoints and wins blue ribbons in state fairs for her work - they look like museum pieces. My stuff is ok, but nothing compared to theirs.

It seems to be in your jeans.....I would bet with a little practice you could be winning blue ribbons too!!

Well the state fair is in Texas. She goes down there many times a year to see family and times her vacations with the fair.
As for me, I don't have a competitive edge.

WOW that looks like a room fit for a pretty pretty princess
Will you be contracting Ed-Lie's aunt after her birth...that talent should not go wasted

She wants more projects. What she has done so far has been subtle. Any more than what she has already done, the room will start to be overkill. I like accents and not themes.
She has made sweater sets for next year. She is finishing an afghan that my mom started . We have no idea who Mom was making it for, but my sister will finish it for Ed-lie.
And then there is the menagerie of needlepoint animals that all three of us are making. Right now, I am working on one that my Mom also started so she will have been an active participant in decorating her granddaughter's room.
And I forgot about all of the stuff that my grandmother knit for nameless faceless babies that was never used. We know they were never used because the sweaters have button holes with no buttons. We (her grandkids and her already existing great-grandchildren) never wore them. We think she just sat around and knit for fun. I guess that's what that generation did for entertainment in the 50s and 60s.
