On the new car topic...

Is it true that the best time to purchase a new car is at the end of the month and in August?

Also, if you trade in a car and there is $ left over, do they tack it on to the new loan? Provately or trade in we are going to lose $ on this car. OH WELL!!!!!

the end of the month thing is true- not sure about August- but I think that has something to do with the new model years

we got a great deal on a convertiable in January- at the end of the month- they wanted it off the lot and by us buying the car we sent them into the next bracket

for example- if they sell 1- 10 cars they get $500 a car

if they sell 11-20 cars- then they get $1K per car (for all the cars sold)

so if it's the end of the month and you are #11- they are going to be more willing to deal with you- b/c they might lose alittle on your deal- but they will make it up overall- does that make sense?

The best time of year to buy a car is then end of the month, but especially the week between Christmas and New Years because the dealerships are very slow the month of December.
