Ugh - it really stinks. When I did mine I was surprised that the lab tech let me go wait in the car so long as I swore I wouldn't eat/drink anything & that I'd be back in 5-10 min. before my next blood draw. I got to go out, recline & close my eyes - it was awesome. Maybe they'll let you do the same?

When I did mine I brought yarn and a pattern to try and make hats...and somehow figured it out and ended up making 3 hats in that time!
Everyone who worked in the building kept passing by me waiting in the waiting room and were checking out what I was doing and commenting on it...it was funny!

I know how to crochet....and yes, I've pretty much taught myself over the years. Someone showed me how to do a basic stitch about 10+ years ago and then everything else I've just figured out from trial and error. It worked out really well because it was before Christmas and I ended up making hats for some family members (sisters, nieces) and some of my DD's teachers (dance, religion) and so it was a productive 3 hours...
