OMG-I called to request my application packet ...
so I can begin the steps of Becoming a licensed Family Child Care provider. I have given it alot of thought and I really am getting tired of commuting back and forth. My focus is my family and my own business. So I want to start by doing it in home and eventually building into my own "small" day care center that focuses on kids who have parents that work late-say 7-7pm..
What do you think???
I will be returning back to work for now but the goal is to get certified in the mean time.

i use to work in daycare and i took some awesome workshops through the office of children and family services from the state. i really recommend them.

Good luck! You will get a ton of business. My SIL is in such a bind- she has to hire a nanny since she gets home at 7pm. I wish you were working here in LA.

No the information is good for all thr boroughs I believe.

Thank you for posting this. I too have been considering this as an option for me.
I wonder if I get registered in NY, would my license be effective in other states...we are considering moving down south. I would probably have to go through the entire process all over again right?

Yes, you would have to get licensed through the state you move to.
