omg! omg! I can't even cope!
I taught an University and I can totally relate. Its so hard to keep it straight and keep your game face on.
I would totally cave and tell her, she can be excused if she needed and I will give her every opportunity to do this when she feels better, and probably offer her an alternative assignment to compensate for not doing this today.
I don't know how you are keeping it together, I'd break out in tears and give her a hug.

I will delete the op in a few...
I did give her a hug and told her she didnt need to do the exam I could grade her on everything up to now...she wanted to do it to try to focus on something else...I dont think its possible

I know, I felt I was right there with you and could see nothing else. ppl are right, its not fair to post about it, but the anguish is too much not to share.
