OMG!!! Could this be it?
So my DH's aunt (who's like a mom to him and I) called to say that her neighbor died over the weekend. Her two children live in sayville and babylon and her husband passed away some time ago. She spoke to the son today when he came to the house (the funeral was yesterday) She asked what their plans were for the house and he said with some time (Probably 4-5 months) they would be more than likely selling it. My aunt mentioned that DH and I were hoping to start looking for a house soon in the area. He said he will contact her the moment they make a decision. Hopefully a few things happen here:
1. Our loan comes through
2. The house is to our liking
3. We get a decent deal
4. we don't have to go through realtors on this.
From what DH's aunt told me the house is pristine. Lots of prayers if you could ladies.

You might want to consider talking to them about having an appraisal done and agreeing to buy for that price, so that way it is fair and they won't be paying realtor fees. An appraisal will only cost a few hundred dollars
I hope it works out for you, sounds promising!

Thanks so much. We have to get it appraised either way since we are doing a VA loan. They will only pay out what the house appraises for. I am excited and scared at the same time.
