Re: Ok...now what cruise line
We have been on 2 Royal Carribean and Noreign they were both great. I loved Noreign because we had free style crusing we didn't have a set time to eat dinner, sit with strangers or get dressed up.

We have been on 3 cruises (Big Red Boat-LOOONG time ago, not in service anymore, RCCL and NCL). Going on RCCL again this fall. Would recommend RCCL.

I like NCL, because of the freestyle no schedule to stick to and can eat wherever/whenever you want. I haven't been on RCCL, but have heard good things about them as well.

Re: Ok...now what cruise line
I've been on Carnival & Princess. In October I'll be going to RCCL & NCL. I felt like Princess was more for an older crowd. Carnival was a lot of fun. RCCL seems to be the fan fave. I've also heard a lot of great things about NCL. NCL has like 7 different restaurants which is a really nice experience. For a few extra bucks you can eat at a different restaurant every night. For me, I prefer that rather than eating at the dining room every night. I def recommend cruisecritic.com! They have sooo much helpful information on there!

RCCL has MTD (my time dining) and you can set the time you want to eat also.

Re: Ok...now what cruise line
It all depends on what you want to get out of the cruise. I usually ask my clients to consider what destinations they are interested in first; then choose the cruise line that best fits that criteria and their personalities.
Of the major mass-market lines, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian are the most popular. These lines usually have the most activities, and also have the lowest average passenger age. You will undoubtedly find many opinions on which one is better, but you will also find that the various ships within each line can differ as much as the lines themselves in terms of food quality, service, entertainment, etc. So IMHO, it's important to do your homework before choosing your ship.
Finally, keep in mind that "most popular" cruise line does not mean the best cruise line. If you're looking for a mass-market cruise that is a little more upscale, then you may want to consider Celebrity or Princess.
Hope that helps!
