I will have to say, I LOVED when I got a huge box of Godivas! I've also gotten Macy's GC, American Express GC, etc. Really, and in all honesty, ANY gesture to know I'm appreciated is amazing!

One mom got me a Coach keychain for December and at the end of the year a Coach bookmark. I loved both!

Re: ok teachers....
I love getting gift cards (usually borders to buy more books/american express/simon). One time the class parent got us all bloomingdale's gc (I am a speech therapist in a preschool). Needless to say, I had to ADD money to use the gc!!! A parent once gave me a coach wristlet also, those are only about 40 at the outlet (it was after I worked with her son for two years)

Gift Card to a large store... Target, Macy's, etc.
They can always be used for something.
Even on the hs level, after 13 years of teaching, I have more than enough teacher mugs and other trinkets.
Actually, being on the high school level I really don't get gifts. If my car is intact I'm happy.

Re: ok teachers....
In my district, teachers are not allowed to accept gifts. However, two very special gifts that I bought for my son's teachers (he has ADHD and is NOT easy to have in one's class) are the Tiffany crystal apple paperweight and the Tiffany silver apple necklace. They are both $$$$$, but I was looking for extra special gifts. The one I gave the necklace wears it every day, so she obviously loves it!
