Ok- I did it- Keratin Type C- have questions

I cancelled my appt at New Mode for JHS and went to Hair Club this am for Keratin. They told me to do Keratin Type C.
( ihave done JHS every year since'03
So what is great is I dont have to wait the 3 days to wash my hair and I can put it up etc.

Came out great. Actually came out just as straight as when I do JHS only 100x shiner and healthier looking.

Who else has done it?

I bought the shampoo and conditioner there too.

1. How long did you find it lasted? Did it have anything to do with how often you washed your hair?

2. where does everyone buyt he shampoos that is sulfur free?

3. Can you do in the pool and ocean water with it? Can it get wet with chlorine or salt water?
Thanks!!!

Yay! I love this stuff! I just looked Hair Club website, looks like they are on top of their game in terms of using best products.

Type C is just their name for salon tech straightening system treatment. I never heard of it, but sound like because you can wash it out same day, your not breathing in formaldehyde for days.

Sounds great, I'm going to look into it myself.

But I think you want to look for sodium free shampoo, sulfur and sulfates are just bad for your hair, but sodium break down keratin.

You want to stay away from ocean water (salt/sodium) or rinse real well afterwards. I went to Hawaii after a Keratin treatment and after 1 full day of soaking in the ocean, my treatment completly washed out.

Apparently it is NO formadelhyde (I am not sure if I believe that).

Here's what I am confused about- each time I wash my hair does the treatment come out? Like should I be concerned that I am spreading the chemicals? I am a worry wortChat Icon

I don't really believe its no formaldehyde or aldehyde or similar chemical - there has to be something in there that binds the keratin to the hair.

But I think after that first real wash you should not have any "chemical" in you hair, just keratin. Keratin, by itself, is just a protein. You could probably eat keratin straight up and be fine.

I think every time you brush/wash/touch your hair you are going to break down the keratin little by little. Imagine it as a wax coating over each strand.

Interesting....I usually wash my hair everyday and I am worried now I am going to ruin it.
