Ok, I am wreck..
We are trying to decide between two houses and I posted in a previous post.
1. off Oakdale/Bohemia Road. A splanch, needs some work, great block/kids, etc.
2. Islip Terrace, off Connetquot Ave about two miles n. of Sunrise and about 2 miles south of where CI starts. Great block, lots of kids. This house is MOVE in Condition..
I don't know waht to do . I am so nervous because of how close to CI it is, but it is East Islip schools.
First house might be in a better location, all things considered. What do I do???????????????????????

Thank you. See, that is why I think the house was so amazingly priced. Beautiful 4 bedroom, 1/5 bath, gorgeous home, Move in condition, top of the line EVERYTHING, low taxes for $429. I knew their had to be something...
So, in your opinion, you would go with the Oakdale house?

I have no clue about any of those areas... but there is a reason why they say, "location, location, location". I know a move in ready house is tempting, but you gotta think about the long term and resale as well.

I would go with the first one. Even though it needs a little work... it's a better location. I wouldn't consider anything near CI. JMO

if you have ANY doubt about a house it is NOT the right house for you. 2 miles to CI would be to close for me.

I have been down this road!! if you have any doubt, its not the right thing. another house will be more amazing and PERFECT with no doubts! I promise- I know because we went through this a few times, and we waited or walked away and I am in the house that I always wanted without any doubt!

sorry to crash but I totally agree. I wouldnt want to be anywhere near CI at all. Im my opinion I would go with the Oakdale house. 100x better then being by CI. Sorry if anyone lives there but my DH works in CI and he would never move there or close to there. Its one of the reasons we didnt look in Islip Terrace, it was to close for him. Again this is JMO but hope it helps!

Is the Oakdale house south of Sunrise, on the East side? That's not far from us at all and we like the area alot. Our neighbors are very friendly. When we moved here 8 years ago DH stopped by the police precint to ask if they had if they had recommendations on alarm companies and if any one in particular had higher false alarms - they laughed at him and told him not to worry about this area. The town of Sayville is wonderful too - lots of community events, a nice town center, restaurants, etc. PM me if you have any specific questions. I can recommend a great contractor that is right in town too if you need some work done. Also a great electrician in West Sayville and a plumber in the area as well.
