Ok, how long did it really take you to pack?
I keep saying to DH, its GO time-- meaning we really have to start the packing marathon. We don't move til next Friday, so a week and a half-ish away.
I have already packed A LOT, but I still feel like there is SO MUCH to do... But, you can't do it all really til you don't need it in your house anymore.
I guess I am just venting my anxiety!!

We closed on our selling home the week right after Father's day and I started packing in May. I had almost everything packed that we weren't using probably by the first week of June. Then it took a whole weekend of us doing it non-stop. That was also the weekend we moved so it needed to be clean since the buyers were taking possession the day of closing.

about a month...
we did a little at a time. a lot of things we had in storage so we did trips on the weekend to get things out and pack things my in-laws were storing for us. i never opened any of my bridal shower gifts but had to go through all of it and re-pack it for the move. so about 4 weekends of packing/buying moving supplies/weeding out garbage
clothes were packed about 1 week before and we left out enough things to get us through the week otherwise our apt was pretty much packed except our furniture...
we were making a big move so i wanted everything to be labeled, organized, in the right boxes - i figured i rather have an easy time unpacking when we got there...we are huge procrastinators so i am shocked we put so much time and effort into packing but i think we were so excited to be moving that we wanted to do it 
i would never want to do it again though

The last time I moved I was so disorganized & behind schedule. We started on a Friday & moved the following Friday. We only had a 1 bedroom apt to pack.
However, we got possesion of the new place on Saturday (though it was going to be Monday) and it needed more cleaning than we though, so we spent more time there than at home & were still packing when the movers came. I actually didn't even pack my kitchen untill after they were done & my in-laws drove it over for us.
It was the longest most annoying move I had every done & I was only moving to the next town.
Pack everything you possibly can now. Start with the things in teh back fo your closets. Decorative items, out of season items, special occassion plates & posts & serving pieces. Pack your clothes on Saturday & just leave a weeks worth.

Honestly, 3 days. We had packed a lot of it already though because when we knew we were selling our co op we packed a lot up and put it in storage or the garage.

We started packing about 5 days before the move from a 1 bedroom apt to a house and the last night in our apt, we were up till 3am packing up the last of itcbefore the movers arrived at 8am. This was with working all week and only packing in the evenings when we got home from work. We probably should've started about two days sooner.

We started doing a bit here and there a month in advance, and kicked it into high gear the week before we moved. We still ended up having a ton to do in the last two days and I was worried we wouldn't get it done!

bit by bit, id say like a month. the stuff we didnt need i just boxed up early. then alot of the kitchen/bathroom/tv/comp/etc stuff that we used on a daily basis had to wait. it really took forever to MOVE everything because we did that bit by bit too...

We didn't pack, actually! We had the movers come and pack for us- and they did it the very day that we moved!!  Granted, it was an apartment so it wasn't a very large space.. but they came first a few weeks before to assess it and then packed it all within a few hours the morning that we moved.
I would definitely do it again- you just need to stay on top of what they are putting where just so you stay organized.. and make sure everything is labeled properly.
We used Ken's .. got the recommendation from girls on this board actually.
