Oil cleansing method.
Thought I would share this. I saw this on pinterest about a week ago and decided I would give it a try. I have only been doing for 4 days and I CANNOT believe the results I have had. My face looks much clearer, and the pimples I did have are just about gone. Never thought that I could use oil to clean my face, but apparently it does work. I have to tweak the formula a bit since I think I need less castor oil and more olive oil, but I can't believe the results. Thought I would share.

I just bought cleansing oil from Bobby Brown but I think I'm going to give this a try. Where do you even find caster oil?

Re: Oil cleansing method.
Its in the section of the store with the laxatives...its usually on the bottom shelf. I got mine at Stop and Shop. They didn't have any big bottles (just a small one) but I am thinking a little will go a long way and I already had the olive oil. Need to tweak the recipe a little but so far its working great.
This is another great website that talks more about the process.

Re: Oil cleansing method.
Doesn't using olive oil to wash your face get expensive? We go through it like crazy in the kitchen (2 kinds), I can't imagine buyng a 3rd bottle for the bathroom.
It is good for your skin & hair though. I remember my friend loving a lotion witholive oil in it form L'occitane, and that was pricey too.
I think this does somewhat make sense. Oil definitely removes makeup, esepcially waterproof eye makeup, and I have noticed that as I get older, oilier/creamier cleansers are better, like cold cream.

Interesting!
Thanks for sharing. I also read the "no shampoo" article and find it intriguing.

I am also gonna try it.
update: I tried it tonight and my hair feels amazing, I think it is from the vinegar. It is tangle free and very soft. Oh and it does not smell! My DH was concerned I would smell, lol.

Re: Oil cleansing method.
WOW! thank you for sharing, I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds fascinating!
I still have castor oil from when I was prego (it was a natural induction method lol). You can find it in any pharmacy/vitamin store.
it suks baking soda is going to destroy the keratin in my hair, otherwise I'd totally do the baking soda wash!

Re: Oil cleansing method.
Would baby oil work? That would be less expensive than olive oil

no, baby oil will clog pores, its a synthetic oil
you want a carrier oil, as described here: http://www.aromaweb.com/articles/whatcarr.asp

Re: Oil cleansing method.
This is very interesting. So you used this as a cleanser instead of soap? your skin wasn't left oily?? I know the article says no but it's hard to believe. I think I might try this.

I DID IT!
OMG I love my skin today! I'm sure it only gets better the more you do it!
I thought my face would be really oily, but its actually just soft, soooo soft! The tiny pimples I had at my chin are shrinking!

Re: Oil cleansing method.
Ok so I tried it tonight and so far so good.
Do you only do it once a day or twice (morning & night)? ETA***** nevermind I found it at the bottom that she did it only at night.
Thanks!

Re: Oil cleansing method.
I tried it and my regularly oily skin did come out softer, and not too oily. The only thing I didnt like was smelling the olive oil on my face. I smelled like food.
