Oh Man....Bankruptcy Vent
I bought a gift certificate from signaturedays.com for a wine tastin cruise around manhattan as a thankyou gift for helping us with the wedding. I just got a notice in the mail saying that they are the debtor in a bankruptcy case.
I went to the website and it says:
To our Clients, Partners and Gift Card Holders:
We are deeply saddened to announce that Signature Days LLC has discontinued all activities and has ceased operations. We would like to thank all of our Customers and Partners who have worked with us over the years, but unfortunately circumstances have forced us to shut our doors. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
If you are the holder of an unredeemed gift card, the purchaser of record will be contacted in due course by a court-appointed bankruptcy trustee and you will be given the opportunity to file a claim as an unsecured creditor.
Signature Days, LLC
I guess I'm out over $200 for awhile and my parents are out a gift.
This sux.
Has this ever happened to anyone?
It's weird- I was just telling my mom today that she better use the fortunoff's gift cards she has before they get bought out. I never even thought about this one.

Re: Oh Man....Bankruptcy Vent
yep, it totally did.
I registered with a china shop in NJ that was in business for over 30 years, and had a great reputation. We chose them over other shops becuase they could get this very unusual european flatware pattern that I wanted.
Since the european company was ceasing all import of their goods on 1/1, I made a deal where I would buy all the flatware on my credit card, but they would hold onto it, and credit my card whenever a person bought pieces from my registry.
well, the 12 place settings were purchased and I was refunded. the SERVING PIECES?
LOST due to bankrupcy I was out about $280. I'm soooo grateful the 12 place settings were purchased... or else I would have been out closer to $1500
