Renovation work at Riverhead Station means that Long Island Rail Road passengers who travel on off-peak trains between Ronkonkoma and Greenport will be asked to board buses instead this week.

Buses will replace the 9:02 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma to Greenport and the 1:42 p.m. train from Ronkonkoma to Riverhead, railroad officials said.

Bus service also will replace the 11:12 a.m. train from Greenport to Ronkonkoma and the 3:19 p.m. train from Riverhead to Ronkonkoma.

The changes will be in place from Monday until Thursday.

Service will also be affected next Monday and Tuesday, according to railroad officials -- with buses replacing the 9:02 a.m. eastbound train from Ronkonkoma to Greenport and the 11:12 a.m. train from Greenport to Ronkonkoma.
