OBGYN affiliated with North Shore or LIJ

Hi everyone,

I am moving to Nassau County, and am looking for an OBGYN that delivers at the new woman's North Shore hospital in Manhasset.

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and will need a new doctor by my 28 week appointment (mid-Jan).

I am looking for a doctor who is low intervention and supportive of natural childbirth. I did have some complications after the birth of my first child- I had a seizure and am now on anti-seizure meds- but am not considered high risk. However if there was anyone who had a doctor who is familiar with women w/epilepsy that would also be a plus.

I would also be interested in delivering at LIJ's new women's hospital if it was actually going to be open in March 2012 (my due date is March 31).

Any additional information about delivering in these two hospitals would be appreciated.

Dr Jeanne Rohan in Great Neck. She delivers at North Shore, and is in a practice with several other docs North Shore Women's Health. She delivered my youngest and offered me a Vbac but I was petrified that I would rupture so I declined. LIJ keeps changing their opening date so don't hold your breath(they were suppose to open before NSUH Manhasset and didn't).

I see Dr. Matthew Traugott in Garden City. I love his late hours, he always calls back when necessary and he is on top of things. My high risk OB is Dr. Nanda who has a private practice in Queens but is with a group that I see at LIJ.
I have been told numerous times by many doctors that work at LIJ and my own doctor and even the woman over the phone that the new maternity wing will def be open mid January. Im due end of January and I was told it would be open before then.
