Re: OB Privacy/Confidentiality Question
Isn't that the law though? They can only discuss with you? (HIPPA)

Re: OB Privacy/Confidentiality Question
My DH only came with me a few times to appts, however, the only issues discussed were basically related to whatever went on at the appt. that specific day, progress I was making, what to expect in upcoming weeks/appts. etc.

I would think if you made it clear to the dr., then he would have to abide by what you asked.

Re: OB Privacy/Confidentiality Question
It depends on what info you are talking about and who you don't wan to see it.
I have a friend who picked her relative to be her baby's pediatrician. While the ped was checking on the baby the doctor read her chart and discovered that she'd had a miscarriage the year before that she'd not shared with anyone in her family. She had provided the info to the hospital, but she didn't know that the ped would be reading her chart, she just assumed they would only look at the baby's. But turns out they look at the mother's chart too in order to see if there were any complications during pregnancy & childbirth that might lead to an issue they should look out for in the baby.
