I lived in Oakdale for 10 years, its a very nice area. pretty neighborhoods & nice people, easy to get to from everywhere. The idle hour area is really nice, the only downside is the dowling dorms are over there & sometimes on weekends there are a lot of college kids walking around & hanging out on montauk hwy. Connetquot is the school district, my son graduated in 2005. I was very happy with the elem school, fairly happy with the middle school, but less than impressed w/the high school. As with all schools on LI, it has its share of drugs & other problems.

I love it there. I have family and friends there and would move there in a second if work wasn't so far away.

Oakdale is a great town to live in. School districts are wonderful. Close to everything really.
