NYC with 1 yr old, things to do???
DS's 1st Birthday is 12/11, a friday. I am taking off & DH is going to take a 1/2 day. We want to go to NYC for the afternoon as along as the weather is good.
What are good things to do/see with a 1 yr old? We are definitely going to go see the Tree and FAO Schwarz.
Any other suggestions?

Central Park if it is a nice day - they have great playgrounds. The zoo in the park; merry go round.
I believe there is a children's museum as well not in the park but not to far away.

I went a couple of years ago with my friends and their 1 year old.
Def see the tree and FAO like you said. Also, go to the Toys R Us in Time Square, M&M Mars store, Hershey Store, and maybe Bubba Gump or a cheesy/fun restaurant like that for lunch. Your 1 year old will sleep real good after that. So much fun!

Central park zoo is right nearby why not go there, then FAO and there is the disney store that sometimes has meet and greets w/ the characters.

I'd do the tree, FAO and the Central Park Zoo. I don't think you'd have much time for anything more.
At that age, my DD loved to watch the seals, penguins and the polar bear. Then we'd head over to the Children's Zoo across the way (included with your admission) and pet the animals. She's an animal lover so she was in heaven.

i am sure seeing the tree all lit up would be fun! We are going 12/8. Katie is 14months and loves to look at the xmas stuff in the stores so we think she is going to love seeing the tree and everythign around there all lit up

last year we took DS to macys to see santa, then we went to see all the windows , the tree, then to FAO . we will probably do the same this year
