I lived in Queens for many years and my average bill was around $75 (more in the summer), for a very small apartment. I now live in Putnam, use NYSEG, and the bill for my whole house is usally less than that!

Thanks! I'm just peeved b/c the couple before us told us that they paid $60/month in the winter. Maybe they didn't include gas in that figure, I don't know. We only have lights on in the room we're in, although DH forgets easily to shut off lights. The tv is always on (mostly for company for me) and the computer is on from 4-10 ish. I blow out my hair 3 times a week and run the dishwasher 3 times a week. We did buy energy efficient appliances though.

Still, We're conservative with everything. No lights during the day b/c we keep the blinds open.

i think our apt is even smaller than 700 sq ft and ours would like $80 in winter and $140 in summer. We went on level pay and pay $111 every mo Chat Icon

My electric for a 800 sq/ft 2br co-op was 80 in the coldest winters... and about 180 in the hottest summers.
