nyc preggos...
do you feel like breathing in all the crappy air all day is bad for the baby? i'm starting to feel super guilty :( especially since i walk to work...

I only work in the city and have a 15 min walk to my office but I'm more concerned about walking behind all the people who smoke on the street

ugh that's another huge pet peeve of mine 
i wish cops would write them tickets!

eh i never really thought about it...plenty of people live in the city and have perfectly healthy babies so I wouldn't worry.
I do agree about the cigarette smoke! I hate that!

i agree, cig smoke is what I am most concerned about/try to avoid but the polluted air is gross for sure.

I thought I was the only one that felt like this! I usually leave my windows open in the spring and the fall and recently washed my curtains on both sides of the apartment (we live on top floor of a brownstone) and they were FILTHY!!! Every time I wipe the window sills, I want to throw up! I was thinking about getting an air purifier for baby's room. My husband thinks I'm crazy but every time we go to my mom's in LI and are on the LIE or in the tunnel, I try to hold my breath (like that helps!)
I think our babies will be fine, just something they'll have to get used to!

I do think about this.. but I'm like I'm doing everything possible to limit my exposure to the fumes etc. I usually walk outside during lunch and all but I have been staying put. What annoys the $hit out me is smokers.. OMG.. especially idiots who think they can smoke all the way up to the platform of the damn subway!!

i hate the smokers who stand outside of my office building smoking away even though its against building policy to be within a certain distance of the doors

Eh I wouldn't worry to much about the city. A report came out last year that Suffolk cty had the worse ozone pollution in the state. Who would've thought that one???
We've all been exposed, as our parents before us, to hazardous pollutants. Am I saying it doesn't worry me sometimes... no....but i don't let myself get worked up about it. I also feel like I turned out OK as well as my parent before me, so I hope for the best for my babies. They are going to be exposed to so much in their lives that I can't shelter them from...air pollution being one of them. All I can do is try to contribute to cleaner air.
