NYC DOE Career Fair
I was invited to go to one for the Bronx Schools.
Has anyone gone to one? Are they worth it?
Can you tell me a little about it.

I went to one in Queens. The fairs are insane. There are millions of people all trying for the same position. The lines were insanely long to meet with different schools. I waited on a line, and luckly they liked me and scheduled me to meet at their school. It was not like the LI board interview, it was just oh meet this person in her classroom. So, I did luck out. Be prepared.
BTW-this is my opinion. I got lucky. But.. I am B-6 general ed and special ed.

If I were you and you could go, I would. If nothing else, you go on interviews and gain experience. Also, e-mail the schools you are interested in. I e-mailed a TON of resumes and received calls....GOOD LUCK!!

I'll be there too!!! WE should start an LIF car pool, or maybe meet somewhere and follow each other.......I went last year and it was great. I meet with a school, went back the next week, and would have had a position but the principal got transferred the last week of school and everything feel through. :(
