NYC $4.4 Billion Dollar Surplus...
part of the mayors proposal includes a property tax rebate, and eliminating the tax on shoes and clothing...
do you think that's enough? or should we see more of the surplus $$ going into certain city services?
thoughts?

how about putting some of that $ into the schools?  or re-paving HORRID roads and fixing grand canyon sized pot holes

they did know about the surplus because a lot of constrction contracts went up at the end of the year -the city is using to fix stuff but also giving it back to people too
property rebates are good for residents - no tax on clothing is good for non-residents - but the city fgets a lot of money from tourists and that includes the clothes they pay - give the tax back to residents i say
