NY & Co. suck-azz return policy

I had a pair of pants I had to return to NY & Co. & apparently I put it in my trunk & forgot about it....I go in there today, see it & go to make the return only to be told my receipt is expired & they can't do anything. UMMMMM sorry?!? What does that mean?

I asked if I can at least change for a different size & of course they didn't have it. (the mgr said, "I'm not supposed to do this, but if its the exact same pants in a different size, I guess we'll be able to do it).

So therefore, my pants are useless & still sitting in the trunk & I can't get a refund or store credit. WTH?!

ETA: apparently there is a 60 day period to make returns....I figured it out & today is the 61 day Chat Icon

Try Target. I'm infamous for buying and returning, and if you're in there 60 days passed, with receipt in tow, they will not even give you a str credit. I have a brawl with them every time I'm in there!

Re: NY & Co. suck-azz return policy

yeah, they only changed that recently (within the past year or so)...

I worked there a few years ago and people used to take advantage of their great return policy. People would return worn things or things from a year in the past, and it was their policy to accept it. I guess they just got tired of it. Gap changed to a similar policy a couple years ago too. No more wash and wear returns!

That really sucks that it was 1 day past the return date and they wouldn't help you out! I shop their a lot, with coupons and stuff, and I didn't realize their return policy changed!

Re: NY & Co. suck-azz return policy

I know it s*cks!
I actually got into a a fight with Gap the other day over the same thing..I tried to exchange/return tshirts I bought for DH and of course they didn't have the right size...
the guy finally gave in and they are mailing me a credit!
Very very aggravating!!
I know alot of people take advantage of returns policies but still!!!

What if you try to return or exchange (at another store) without the receipt?

Re: NY & Co. suck-azz return policy

60 days seems like a lot to me- most stores are 30 days

I would just take it to another store- give them a sob story- vacation, new mom etc and ask for the manager

I need take the final word of the sales clerk

Re: NY & Co. suck-azz return policy

If you return it without a receipt you will be lucky if they give you half of what you paid. I always lose my receipts, I can buy a shirt on Mon and return on Wed and they will only give you half of the ticket price.
