Nursing at amusement park

So we're planning on going to Dutch Wonderland for a weekend...just curious...i am still BF-ing my son...he will be 21 weeks when we go...

Where do you ladies BF the kids? Or do you bring bottles...and if you do...what happens when you start to engorge...how would you pump? Its always easier for me to nurse..i would hate to have to carry around a pump..

Re: Nursing at amusement park

I always just brought a nursing cover and nursed wherever I could find a seat- a bench, a wall, whatever!

The whole place is families with young children. Find a quiet bench somewhere and do what you need to do. I nursed at adventureland. Tell your husband to get over it, he is being silly.

This and I'd just bring a cover too and nurse wherever. We were there at the beginning of June. It all families and I don't think I've ever seen so many pregnant ladies in one place. I think 1 in 3 were pregnant :)

Re: Nursing at amusement park

I was never comfortable doing it in public!
I would always pump in the car right before we got there...bottle feed while there and pump in the car on the way home!

If I was desperate and I had to nurse, I would prob bring a nursing cover and go into the family room or our car!

But that is just me! Chat Icon

I would bring a cover, find a less crowded bench and nurse your LO whenever he's hungry.

I'm pretty sure they have a mother's room there. I would check the site if you don't feel comfy doing it in public

Re: Nursing at amusement park

Yes, they have mother's nursing stations all over the park. There is also an area in the back that is very quiet/secluded and almost totally shaded. I took DD back there for a nap and there were a few mother's nursing back there.

I always had my nursing cover and popped a squat where ever I was.. my DH was nervous in the beginning with me too but let me tell you he got over that quickly, or if he hasn't then he learned to deal and keep his mouth shut.. I told my DH we had a whole year of this and we can't keep stopping what we are doing to hide and feed so get over it

I don't care anymore. I nurse wherever. I was at Wantagh Park the other day and an old lady came up to me and asked if there was a baby "under there" and if she could see him. I don't think she understood that I was breastfeeding.

Do you have a cover? NO one can see anything if you use a cover.

What does he think, that people will be checking out your boobs?

Re: Nursing at amusement park

This is from their website:
Nursing Mothers

Nursing Mothers can utilize our new Nursing Mothers Station located near the train station at the front of the park. Our Nursing Mothers Station has a rocking chair for mom and a kid-sized chair for older brothers or sisters. The Nursing Mothers Station also has a changing table for your convenience.

As an aside though, with DS2, I nursed him everywhere! We went to a LOT of parks with DS1 and the little one had to eat... I would find a bench put on my cover and feed the baby. I would often start a little trend and have a few other nursing moms join me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
With DS1, I was very self conscious and would only feed him in the car or in a private place. I didn't have that luxury with DS2 since DS1 wanted to be out playing and not sitting down anywhere.
