Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
At what stage do you have the crib with all the bedding all set up before the baby's arrival.
We have the mattress and bedding set. The bedding set just needs to be washed. We just don't know when we should set it up.
DH is afraid it will collect dust, so everything is still in its packaging and he thinks we should leave it as is until shortly before my due date.
I have no idea on this sort of thing, so I thought I would ask.

It doesn't matter, do it whenever you want. If you want to show off the nursery now, do it now. If you want to do it after the baby is born, do it then.

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
I agree with your DH. I have everything still in the package sitting in the crib waiting to be washed. Will probably wash it around 37-38 weeks and have my mom put it in the crib while im in the hospital. There's no reason for it to collect dust for a couple of weeks...

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
My friend had the same fight with her DH. She wanted it up early. He didn't want dust. The compromise? They wrapped everything in plastic Kind of like plastic paint drop cloths. It was hysterical but it made them both happy

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
I'm 28 weeks. We have had the bedding up for about 2 weeks. I just didn't wash anything yet. I have a repeat c-section set up for April 18th so I will probably wash it the week of, assuming I don't go into labor before then.

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
With DS I did it after my shower around 36 weeks. This time around here I am at 33 weeks and the room isn't painted yet. But honestly do it when you want to. I liked having everything done just in case I went early.

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
I washed everything this past weekend at 36 weeks. It's all ready to go. I just draped a clean queen sized sheet over it, so it doesnt get dusty.

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
Last time I set it all up at about 37 weeks. I was out of work by that time and super bored so I set everything up. good thing I did because DD came at 38 weeks.

Re: Nursery Set Up - Very random Question...
I'm aiming to get as much done and out of the way as possible, so there's less to do later. That said, I'd wash the bedding and put it on the crib. The urge to scratch that off the list would far exceed any concern of it getting dusty. And if it does then it can come off and get washed again, simple solution!
