Nursery Ordered - f/u question (conversion kits)
Relieved we ordered our nursery furniture from BRU -- went with the Truly Scrumptious Set in Cloud by Heidi Klum.
We had a WONDERFUL experience at the Babies R Us in Brooklyn (Gateway Center/Erskine Street).
We saved over $1,000 between a registry discount (10%), Black Friday discount (15%), multiples discount b/c we're having twins (10%) and then another 15% off for applying for a BRU credit card.
We were able to order the (2) cribs + dresser + chest + 2 mattresses. However, the (2) conversion kits -- both for the toddler guard rail and then for the full size bed rails - they were not in stock (BUT, not discontinued.)
1) If the conversion kits are discontinued what are my changes of returning the whole set? It defeats the purpose of being a conversion crib w/out the conversion kits.
2) WHY are the conversion kits SO expensive. The toddler guard rail isn't bad (about $90 ea) but the full size bed is almost $240/$250 each!!! I guess that's where they get ya!
3) I really LOVE the set - but if worse comes to worse -- do you think I could actually still use the set w/out their conversion kits? ie: using another brands?

Nursery Ordered - f/u question (conversion kits)
I'm sure you can return them if you change your mind. I would not wate your money on a toddler guard rail. For me it wasn't needed u bought a mesh one for like $15 nd didn't end up even using it.

Thanks so much -- that's great advice, that I can skip the toddler rail (of course it's the less expensive one!)

I believe you can still use the foot-board and head board without the conversion piece. They are just the sides that attached the headboard to the foot-board but you may be able to just directly attached the boards to the mattress frame. The toddler conversion we needed as they were also the legs for the bed. We were able to buy a nice toddler bed that was cheaper than the conversion so we went that route.
