Nursery Furniture
We're looking to get a crib, double dresser (with hutch preferrably) and nightstand for the nursery
Was looking for any recommendations from those of you who got these pieces and spent $2000 or less?
and did the crib come with a mattress, or was that extra?

Check out the Graco Line or Baby Italia Lines. Both got really good reviews in Baby Bargains and are reasonably priced. For us, we had to buy the mattress, it didn't come with the set. Sometimes some places will have a deal where it does though.

We got a bonavita crib and double dresser with hutch for about $1000 from buy buy baby. We used the 20% off coupons.

We also got a Bona Vita crib and dresser ours was just under 1000 and we used the coupons.
We picked one of the sturdier sets there and its a brand they also sell in the baby furniture stores.

Yup! I got my set on Sale for $600 (no mattreses)
I got a crib, and two dressers. One of the dressers doubles as a changing table.
ETA: this was before taxes. total was like $724 and I had it delivered to the store.

I was looking at Target. They have very affordable sets. I dont know about the quality though. Does anyone else know?

I looked EVERYWHERE for nursery sets and priced them out (BBB, BRU, Behrs, online, Pottery Barn Kids, Target, Ikea, Bellini, etc etc). Personally, the best value option for me was JCPenney- their furniture is super-duper sturdy, and for 3 pcs (crib & 2 dressers) it came out to a grand (using code seek30) which knocked 30% off. The similar set I loved at BRU was $1600. After reading a buttload of reviews, the consenus was that JCP had better, sturdier furniture than BRU. But if your budget is up to 2 grand- Pottery Bark Kids has some beautiful stuff as does Behrs, BBB & Belini.
