nursery closets!
how are you organizing the nursery closet? are you putting shelving or storage in the bottom? I feel like having one bar with clothing (that is only 20ish inches long) hanging is the worst use of space.
i was talking with DH about having someone come in to fit the closet with shelves and more bars etc.
does anyone have any pics?

Re: nursery closets!
we have two bars each with a shelf on top and bins on the shelves. we have a hanging organizer on each wall...one with pockets and the other is just one big pocket. there is a bow holder on the wall too. big stuff sits on the floor of the closet. we use the dresser for everyday clothes, sheets, socks, bibs, etc. In the closet are things in larger sizes, dresses, coats, and special outfits. large blankets (which she'll only use when older) are on the very top shelf that I can't reach. light blankets are in a chest DH made under her window.
i think you should go for two bars. leave room for some large items but also have storage options for small things.

Re: nursery closets!
I don't have pictures yet, but will soon, we plan on finishing this week. But we have hanging bars on two sides of a center divider. under the bar on one side we have a set of 5 drawers, and on the other a set of shelving. Its all closetmaid system that we got from Lowes.

Re: nursery closets!
our closet was big with a very small door. We cut the door frame and put double doors in.
There were already 2 shelves up top with a bar for hanging clothes, so that stayed and then closer to the bottom we added another shelf. I think there are pics in my album

Re: nursery closets!
I bought shelving and such at Target which really gives us a lot more room! We also have two walk in closets which helps tremendously, so if I run out of room, I can put the clothes she is not in yet in the big walk in.

Re: nursery closets!
We have two rows in the closet...shelf with bar below to hang and DH measured it to make sure that the space between the two sets is big enough for him to hang his shirts and pants folded over so that down the road the kids can do the same.
I have baskets on the shelves with items and actually enough space on the bottom to store some rubbermaid containers.

Re: nursery closets!
We have a big closet with only 1 long bar so we registered for this at Babies R Us to expand our options.
